Your Role
The Purchasing Agent/Certified Technician plays a vital role in managing the procurement and distribution of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the 340B procurement program, tracking usage and purchasing, and managing virtual inventory software.
- Preparing and processing medication orders for clinic departments and ensuring cost-effective purchasing based on available pricing.
- Managing product shortages by sourcing alternatives and maintaining compliance with procurement regulations.
- Receiving and verifying shipments of medications and supplies, ensuring accurate distribution within the pharmacy.
- Maintaining inventory organization and managing returns of outdated medications.
- Collaborating with pharmacy managers to address backorders and ensuring adequate supply levels.
- Assisting in training new staff and maintaining adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those with additional education or experience in pharmacy settings. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is required at the time of hire.
