Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Manager is accountable for the continuous preventative upkeep of the facility's infrastructure, equipment, and grounds, as well as addressing maintenance issues as they occur. This role ensures that maintenance support is accessible for urgent situations that may arise outside of standard working hours. The manager will perform most responsibilities independently and engage appropriately licensed vendors, as approved by management, for additional support when necessary. The role also involves assisting residents with relocations and minor repairs.

  • Exhibits strong safety awareness and adheres to safety protocols, including infection control measures when applicable.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and maintain motivation. Capable of prioritizing tasks and completing them efficiently.
  • Must display a positive, courteous, and respectful demeanor towards residents, families, staff, and visitors.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in facility maintenance.
  • Experience in team leadership.
  • Knowledge in the following areas is essential:
a. Plumbing, including but not limited to the design and mechanics of toilets, plumbing fixtures, drainage systems, water heaters, dishwashers, ice machines, etc.

b. HVAC systems, covering general principles of HVAC and heat pump operation, as well as refrigeration.

c. Electrical systems, including wiring, voltage, and amperage.

d. Mechanical systems, focusing on the design and operation of engines.
  • A valid driver's license is required; a clean driving record with no significant violations is mandatory.
