Job Title: CT Technologist

WellStar Douglas Hospital is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) scanners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform CT scans and other imaging procedures to diagnose and treat diseases
  • Position patients for imaging services and procedures
  • Verify proper clinician orders and patient identity using two unique identifiers
  • Administer contrast media safely and ensure studies have proper identification
  • Review images for clinically acceptable results and respond to emergencies
  • Assist other technologists and observe patient conditions to evaluate the need for physician intervention
  • Maintain life support equipment and restock the crash cart
  • Follow procedures for privacy, comfort, and dignity throughout exams
  • Demonstrate proficiency with procedures, equipment, supplies, and techniques based on patient age
  • Use critical thinking skills, dialogue with patients and families, and seek clarification when needed
  • Document pre-procedural verification and Time Out process when appropriate
  • Maintain concise, legible documentation with precise terminology
  • Ensure fully operational equipment before use and report malfunctions promptly
  • Clean and disinfect equipment following infection control protocols
  • Send studies to PACS immediately after completion and manage completed log sheets as necessary
  • Restock linens and maintain department cleanliness and order
  • Transport and assist patients on and off procedure tables
  • Perform clerical and supportive duties to ensure service continuity and quality
  • Maintain an individual productivity rate comparable to coworkers and share knowledge willingly
  • Operate all workstations associated with the CT department
  • Maintain regulatory standards and take call when necessary

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Radiology required; less than 1 year in CT preferred
  • Radiologic Technology certifications required upon hire
  • ARRT Radiography and ARRT Computed Tomography certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to function independently and under pressure, and excellent customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented with effective multitasking capability and competent in all aspects of CT, patient positioning, exposure factors, and radiation protection
  • Understanding of anatomy and pathology
