Key Responsibilities- Classroom Supervision: Oversee the daily class functions of a group of children, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all rules and regulations at Primrose and local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children.
- Child Assessment: Continuously assess each child's developmental needs and implement individualized plans to support their growth.
- Lesson Planning: Develop and implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences: Collaborate with the Leadership Team to plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
- Classroom Maintenance: Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
- Behavioral Support: Provide verbal recognition and acceptance to children while setting clear and consistent expectations for their behavior.
- Housekeeping and Maintenance: Accept responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds.
- Professional Development: Attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions to stay up-to-date on best practices and company policies.
- Professional Appearance: Maintain overall professional personal appearance, adhering to the guidelines outlined in the Primrose Employee Handbook.
- Basic Requirements: Meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
- Teaching Experience: Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program is preferred.
- Knowledge of Child Development: Possess knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
- Physical Demands: Be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
