Database Engineer Role Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join our team and assist in meeting mission needs for our government customer. This role will be performed onsite at the assigned customer location.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor databases and related systems to ensure optimized performance.
  2. Support agile activities for systems including release planning, sprint planning, and retrospectives to gather and incorporate lessons learned into engineering processes.
  3. Model data to design local schemas, tables, data types, indexes, procedures, and functions.
  4. Work with developers during the normal application development life cycle to build features that deliver value to our customers.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree and 5-8 years of Database experience.
  2. Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly.
  3. Database experience using MongoDB or MariaDB, including deployment and management of the database itself, debugging of optimization issues, and scaling.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  1. Python, Django, or Flask.
  2. ReST Endpoint Development.
  3. Micro-Service Model.
  4. Swagger.
  5. AWS, C2S, or other cloud experience.
  6. Docker.
  7. Visual Studio Code or similar IDEs, JSON, and/or XML serialization.
  8. Jira, Confluence.
  9. Git version control.
  10. Experience working in Agile environment.
