Job Description\

This is a challenging role that requires an experienced maintenance professional to lead the facilities operations team at our manufacturing facility in Fair Lawn, NJ.

\

Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling maintenance and repair activities across the production floor, ensuring optimal equipment performance, quality, and safety standards.

\

Main Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Lead the maintenance and electrical teams, coordinating with outside contractors as needed.\
  • Oversee maintenance of buildings, grounds, plant equipment, and utilities.\
  • Develop and maintain Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to optimize maintenance efficiency.\
  • Ensure plumbing, mechanical, and electrical equipment performance, condition, and reliability.\
  • Maintain a safe work environment through active participation in safety programs.\
  • Optimize maintenance support to provide technical and human resources for maximum equipment/process reliability.\
  • Implement Maintenance Reliability Systems to improve production processes.\
  • Provide technical guidance and hands-on support for resolving processing and packaging equipment issues.\
  • Conduct investigations and ensure proper documentation.\
  • Manage core training and certification processes in the department.\
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in managing the department.\
  • Perform other duties as assigned.\

Requirements:

  • \
  • B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, or related area strongly preferred with a minimum of five years of maintenance leadership experience OR a minimum of a HS Education with a minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in manufacturing leadership in food manufacturing.\
  • Excellent leadership and training skills required.\
  • Prior work experience in a unionized environment strongly preferred.\
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.\
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills required.\
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills required.\
  • Effective team player capable of working with diverse work crews.\
  • Computer proficiency required.\
  • Prior experience with major quality audits and development of work practices that are BRC compliant strongly preferred.\
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities necessary.\
  • Must be able to work in high dust and noise areas and tolerate high heat and humidity.\
  • Must be able to walk on concrete floors and climb stairs occasionally.\

Salary and Benefits: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth and development.
