Position Overview:
Job Summary

Responsible for weighing, mixing, and baking a variety of bakery products. Ensures adequate inventory levels and upholds cleanliness and presentation standards within the bakery department. Provides friendly and courteous service to both internal and external customers. Performs additional related tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage customers with a welcoming and friendly demeanor.
  2. Produce a range of bakery items for retail display.
  3. Operate and maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
  4. Package fresh products in accordance with established procedures.
  5. Ensure product quality by adhering to code dating practices.
  6. Prepare icing and toppings by measuring ingredients and using mixers.
  7. Assemble cakes by layering and icing multiple items simultaneously.
  8. Label bakery products accurately for customer convenience.
  9. Showcase products attractively while following FIFO inventory practices.
  10. Assist customers with inquiries regarding special orders and product availability.
  11. Maintain stock levels and inform management of inventory needs.
  12. Produce various types of bread and pastries by following recipes and operating machinery.
  13. Perform cleaning duties to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment.
  14. Open and close the bakery in accordance with company protocols.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:
  • Deliver consistent, friendly service to all customers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capable of lifting and moving heavy products as required.
  • Perform visual inspections and follow production guidelines accurately.
  • Maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Engage in various physical activities including standing, lifting, and reaching.
  • Handle bakery ingredients safely and efficiently.
  • Basic math skills for measuring and weighing ingredients.
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation standards diligently.
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Requirements:
Food Handlers Certification as per state regulations.

Equipment Operated:

Ovens, mixers, proof boxes, and various kitchen utensils.
