Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in the Medical-Surgical Cardiac Stroke Unit at Sentara CarePlex Hospital. This role requires a competent level of nursing care, demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and admit patients, conducting thorough evaluations to identify patient needs
  • Round checks and administer medications as prescribed by physicians
  • Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care
  • Provide comprehensive care for patients, including monitoring, education, and support
Requirements
  • BSN or MSN preferred
  • Current RN license in North Carolina or Virginia
  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications within 1 year of hire
  • NIHSS certification and stroke training
