Job Overview:

The Evening Operations Technician is responsible for various essential functions at a dairy-based digester facility, utilizing both electrical-mechanical and biological systems to convert cow manure into valuable products such as renewable natural gas, fertilizers, animal bedding, and clean water.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring, installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing a diverse range of assets and processes.
  • Sampling and testing of solids, liquids, and gases.
  • Generating and disseminating various reports and documentation.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned by management.

This position reports to the Facility Manager, with limited direct supervision. The ideal candidate must be responsible, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. All tasks must be performed safely and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and standards.

The role involves participation in an On-Call rotation and may require working at heights, handling electrical equipment, operating heavy machinery, and working in confined spaces. It also includes administrative tasks and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • General mechanical aptitude.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., maintenance or engineering) or 3+ years of experience in operations, production, or maintenance within the manufacturing, energy, or wastewater management sectors.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

Fieldwork may involve exposure to various weather conditions, high elevations, confined spaces, electrical components, and agricultural waste. The physical demands of this role include standing, kneeling, walking, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.
