Overview:

The Operating Room Technician plays a crucial role within the surgical team, providing essential support during the intra-operative phase of surgical and obstetrical procedures. Utilizing expertise in surgical instruments and equipment, this position aims to ensure optimal results for every patient.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure proper decontamination and sterilization of surgical instruments and scopes, maintaining a detailed log of all activities.
2. Communicate effectively with the equipment coordinator and/or manager regarding any issues or concerns related to operating room equipment.
3. Maintain accurate preference cards through collaboration with the surgical team.
4. Exhibit proficient knowledge and skills, and be prepared to participate in an equitable on-call schedule as required by staffing needs.
5. Demonstrate cost-saving measures by minimizing unnecessary supply usage during procedures.
6. Respond promptly to hospital calls within a 30-minute timeframe.
7. Participate in departmental specialty focus teams and take responsibility for designated areas.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Current certification in CPR (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
• ACLS certification is required or must be obtained within the first year of employment.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position with hours from 7 am to 3:30 pm, including on-call duties once a week and one weekend per month. Candidates must reside within a specified distance from the facility.
The compensation for this role ranges from $21 to $30 per hour, based on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Deductibles are as low as $250 for individual coverage and $500 for family coverage, with full coverage provided at the facility.

Retirement benefits include a matching contribution of 3% after the employee contributes 3%, with an additional 1.5% after 1,000 hours worked, totaling a 7.5% contribution.
