Position Overview

This role is a full-time, on-site position at MDRSC. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will focus on the design of packaging, conducting research and development (R&D) for packaging solutions, managing projects, and applying mechanical engineering principles throughout the packaging process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of value stream mapping, continuous improvement processes, and lean methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience is required.
  • Six Sigma certification (green or black belt) is advantageous.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and lean management, including time studies and project development within the automotive supply sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee pilot projects and feasibility assessments.
  • Manage special projects within the plant and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support product launches and optimization initiatives, taking charge of designated work packages.
  • Provide consulting and support as a subject matter expert in continuous improvement, supply chain management, plant logistics, lean practices, and resource efficiency.
  • Plan investments and manage budgets for project implementations, along with associated reporting.
  • Oversee projects with multiple interfaces, including international coordination with customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to value stream, continuous improvement, and lean principles within the designated area of responsibility.
  • Facilitate effective communication and leadership among project team members in alignment with project objectives.
  • Identify optimization opportunities, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Take responsibility for continuous improvement processes.
  • Define and implement strategies to meet continuous improvement goals, along with regular reporting of project progress and key performance indicators.
  • Manage the execution of continuous improvement initiatives.
