Guaranteed Hours: Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: NC or Compact License (Required in hand at time of start) Certifications: BLS and NBST Must-Have: - Experience with all ages - Inpatient experience - Trauma experience - Proficient in Scrub and Aseptic Technique - Experience in specialties such as ENT, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Thoracic, Neurology, Gynecology
Job Description: Work within a multi-specialty surgical services unit supporting both inpatient and outpatient procedures. Adaptable to perform trauma and emergency surgeries including general, vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, urology, and more. Handle special procedures with a daily case load of 80 and within 22 rooms. Operate and maintain specialized equipment, such as the DaVinci Robot. Call requirement includes potential call shifts of 1 to 2, 12-hour calls every 2 weeks as needed. Float requirement across units as needed. Weekend shifts required as necessary. Participate and work as part of a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team during adverse events. Undergo orientation adjusted according to experience. Scrubs are provided.
Preferred Skills/Certifications/Experience: Experience in outpatient surgeries, Level I Trauma, and teaching hospitals. Skills in elective procedures like transplants, bariatrics, ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, and orthopedics with total joints. Experience using the DaVinci Robot for surgical procedures. Previous experience at a teaching hospital is a plus. Note: Flexibility to float within hospital units based on census and skill sets. Adherence to the fatigue policy ensuring work is limited to a maximum of 5 consecutive days or 60 hours weekly. Completion of non-billable modules pre-start and annually is required.
