Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Histotechnologist to join our team at The Dermatology Specialists. As a Histotechnologist, you will be responsible for preparing histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination and diagnosis by pathologists.
  • Stain tissue specimens with dyes or other chemicals to make cell details visible under microscopes.
  • Perform specimen embedding and microtomy, H/E and special staining, and preparation of solutions.
  • Slide cover slipping and labeling, utilizing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all equipment, including tissue processors.
  • Participate in supply inventory management and ordering, filing of blocks and slides, and slide distribution.
  • QC/QA participation.

Requirements:

  • Licensed as a Certified Clinical Laboratory histotechnician, histotechnologist, technician, or technologist.
  • Associate's degree from a relevant course of study as defined by PA clinical laboratory licensing requirements.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in a surgical pathology laboratory.
  • Exposure to computer systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills.
