Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately completes compounding documentation and pharmacy records as required.
  • Measures and combines raw materials, ensuring adherence to specified conditions such as temperature and mixing protocols to produce compliant batches.
  • Transfers prepared materials into appropriately labeled containers.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, adhering to all necessary documentation to comply with industry standards.
  • Possesses a comprehensive understanding of relevant compounding guidelines.
  • Generates labels and prepares medications according to prescribed orders.
  • Prepares both bulk and unit dose medications as specified.
  • Organizes and prioritizes workload to ensure efficient task completion.
  • Ensures the compounding area and equipment are maintained in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborates with the pharmacist and pharmacy management in monitoring inventory levels and ordering supplies.
  • Engages in quality assurance activities as needed.
  • Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines for handling hazardous materials.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of standard operating procedures and safety practices.
  • Effectively manages hazardous spills and disposes of waste in compliance with regulations.
  • Regularly checks for expired or soon-to-expire materials.
  • Utilizes proper protective equipment as mandated.
  • Prepares all compounded products for review by the pharmacist.
  • Works closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure product integrity and safety.
  • Assists the pharmacist-in-charge with additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current registration as a pharmacy technician in good standing.
  • Experience in compounding or laboratory settings.
  • Familiarity with compounding guidelines.
  • Ability to wear necessary protective gear.
  • Proficient in operating computer systems and laboratory instruments.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Team-oriented with experience in a dynamic work environment.
