Job Summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a skilled Technician II Night Shift PCU/ICU to join our team. As a key member of the patient-family care team, you will provide clinical support and customer service standards in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care and assistance to patients and families, adhering to customer service and care standards.
  • Support patient safety and care initiatives, such as maintaining a quiet environment and hourly patient rounds.
  • Process patient care orders and reports accurately and timely, communicating priority orders to the responsible RN or department.
  • Educate patients and families about medical procedures and prepare supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Collect and label specimens, transport patients safely, and utilize proper body mechanics and Safe Patient Handling activities.
  • Communicate patient flow and unit information to the responsible RN and interdisciplinary care team.
  • Restock supplies, remove outdated items, and perform quality controls on equipment.
  • Inventories patient belongings at admission, transfer, and discharge.
  • Serve as an effective preceptor and mentor for new employees.
Credentials
  • Certified Nurse Aid
  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • CPR (must obtain if not held at time of hire)
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Education Specialization: Equivalent Experience:
  • Other
  • Education Specialization: Experience at an acute care facility or student nurse with hospital-based clinical experience. Equivalent Experience:
