Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this position is around $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience. Our benefits package includes competitive compensation, a generous benefits plan (medical, dental, vision, 401K), substantial PTO, continuing educational opportunities, and more. We offer a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.
Job Description
As an Emergency Department Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for the quality of nursing staff and the delivery of patient care during your shift. Your key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct communication with the Director and/or House Supervisor on unanticipated patient care events and/or risk management activities within patient care units.
- Utilizing nursing personnel effectively, assisting with required scheduling, staffing, and assignments.
- Providing direction, supervision, and evaluation of staff and/or staff education as necessary.
- Assisting with performance evaluations, progressive discipline of staff, and other related HR activities as needed.
- Assessing supplies and equipment availability, ensuring their proper use and functionality, and assisting in the daily maintenance of par levels.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred.
- A valid Texas State Registered Nursing (RN) license, required.
- A current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current, required.
- A current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
- A current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certificate within 12 months of hire.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience, preferred.
