Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist/MLT to join our team at the Cleveland Clinic. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing and interpreting tests at all complexity levels, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and interpret tests at all complexity levels, demonstrating a strong understanding of laboratory testing principles and procedures.
  • Correlate abnormal laboratory data with pathological states, determining the validity of test results and the need for additional tests.
  • Communicate test results, reference ranges, and specimen requirements to authorized sources.
  • Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, test analysis, reporting, and record-keeping.
  • Maintain regulatory knowledge and awareness, adhering to quality control policies and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for quality control and quality assurance issues, maintaining instruments and equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional development, and annual competency assessments.
  • Exercise good judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills, recommending solutions and improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from a four-year college or university.
  • Meets CLIA qualifications for high complexity testing personnel, with grandfathering clauses.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or certification eligible from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
