Position Overview:

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist I is responsible for conducting both routine and specialized laboratory examinations and procedures essential for diagnosing and treating various health conditions. This role involves the use of advanced laboratory equipment and computer systems to evaluate and report patient results, exercising significant independent judgment within established testing protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
  • Utilize laboratory instruments and technology effectively while maintaining high standards of quality control.
  • Evaluate test results and ensure accurate reporting, applying independent judgment as necessary.
  • Stay updated with the latest knowledge and skills relevant to laboratory practices.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring a well-maintained working environment.
  • Assist in the training and evaluation of new staff and students in laboratory procedures.
  • Collaborate with team members while also working independently under general supervision.

Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a laboratory setting.

Educational Qualifications:
An Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is required; a Bachelor's Degree in the same field is preferred.

Licensure/Certification:
Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology or an equivalent credentialing agency is required.

Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Weekend and Call Requirements:
No weekend work or on-call duties are expected.
