Gluer Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gluer Helper to join our team at Packaging Corporation of America. As a key member of our manufacturing crew, you will be responsible for assisting in the production process, ensuring quality and efficiency, and working collaboratively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare equipment and materials for production, adhering to order requirements and factory instructions.
- Understand and follow instructions on factory cards and communicate effectively with operators and assistant operators.
- Locate masters when needed and work with other helpers and crew members to maximize efficiency.
- Communicate quality-related issues and set up and operate bundling/squaring machines or case sealers as required.
- Catch and pack boxes, set up master cartons, and input information into the system to create load tags.
- Switch duties with other crew members, including feeding, pulling, stacking, and packing, as required.
- Ability to work independently and within a team, effectively communicating with members of the crew.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and work rules, including safety and good housekeeping.
- Must be able and willing to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Lifting up to 45 pounds.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with varying temperatures based on season, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math functions.
Candidates with prior work experience in manufacturing/production environments, particularly in folding gluing or similar work, are preferred.
