Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Gluer Assistant to join our production team at Packing Corp Of America. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our gluing and packaging processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare equipment and materials for production runs, including case labels and special load tags.
  • Understand and follow instructions on factory cards and from operators.
  • Locate masters when not present at machine centers, as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other helpers and crew members to maximize production efficiency.
  • Communicate quality-related issues to operators and assistant operators.
  • Set up and operate bundling/squaring machines or case sealers when required.
  • Catch and pack boxes, and set up master cartons.
  • Move between machine centers/areas as dictated by production needs and supervisory direction.
  • Input information into systems to create load tags.
  • Switch duties with other crew members, including feeding, pulling, stacking, and packing, as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Lifting up to 45 pounds.
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, around machinery, and heavy forklift traffic.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior work experience in manufacturing/production environments.
  • Prior work experience working as a crew member on a machine crew.
  • Demonstrated experience as a leader and/or team member.
  • Prior experience working in Folding Gluing or similar type of work.
