Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse at Corewell Health, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. You will use your clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patients' responses to actual or potential health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and monitor patients' needs, documenting care and teaching consistent with documentation guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain individualized patient plans of care, reflecting the full scope of practice.
  • Deliver care in a culturally sensitive manner, preserving patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
  • Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, including triage of incoming calls, to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
  • Act as a patient advocate, initiating discharge planning and facilitating a smooth transition to the next point of service or home.
  • Evaluate patients' and family educational needs, developing and implementing appropriate teaching strategies or making referrals.
  • Provide evidence-based nursing care consistent with the plan of care, guidelines of care, physician orders, and health system policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (required within 5 years for certain roles)
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 90 days)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required within 90 days for certain roles)
Work Environment

This role is based at the Southwestern Medical Clinic in Niles, Michigan. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
