Position Summary:
We are seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing specialized technical assistance and solutions for project teams, maintenance, and operations. The Civil/Structural Engineer will implement industry best practices and Most Effective Technology (MET) within their discipline. The role encompasses various engineering disciplines, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and more, supporting both project execution and technical support.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Civil/Structural Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Ensuring clarity and compliance of drawings and specifications with business requirements.
  • Conducting timely reviews and ensuring adherence to specifications by contractors and fabricators.
  • Collaborating effectively with diverse teams across different cultures.
  • Performing fieldwork, including inspections in various environments and conditions.
  • Upholding safety standards in all operations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Project Leadership:
In a project leadership capacity, you will:
  • Lead projects within your discipline, ensuring accountability for results and adherence to best practices.
  • Facilitate clear scope definition and develop plans to manage project execution effectively.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Oversee deliverables for estimating and ensure accuracy in scope representation.
  • Manage technical contract package development and implementation.
  • Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs.
  • Ensure safety considerations are integrated into design processes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Willingness to travel domestically, approximately 10% of the time.
  • Eligibility to work legally in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Capability to wear required safety equipment.
  • Willingness to work in noisy environments and with hazardous materials.

Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years in the industry.
  • Experience in structural design and evaluation.
  • Background in civil/structural engineering for industrial projects.
  • Possession of Civil Engineering PE licensure in Michigan or the ability to obtain it.
