Randstad Life Sciences US is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pathologist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for performing routine functions in the surgical pathology area, including escalated issues and troubleshooting quality control problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Day-to-Day Operations: Collaborate with the department manager/supervisor to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of services provided by the grossing staff.
- Perform Gross Examinations: Conduct gross examinations of surgical pathology specimens under appropriate supervision, including large, complex, and complicated specimens.
- Provide Technical Guidance: Offer technical instructions, training, and guidance to pathologist assistants, grossing technicians, students, and lab assistants in techniques, instrumentation, and organization of work.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure compliance with all corporate safety, quality control, and quality assurance standards, as well as local, federal, CLIA, and CAP regulations.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and correct problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results, and notify the histology supervisor/manager, technical supervisor, or director as needed.
- Workflow Coordination: Coordinate and monitor workflow to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in the development and monitoring of quality indicators for the Quality Management Program (QMP).
- Continuing Education: Comply with Quest Diagnostics corporate continuing education requirements for grossing personnel, as well as those required to maintain state licensure and/or certification.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Licensure: Current state licensure
- Certification: ASCP PA certification
- Experience: Preferred 1 year surgical gross experience, including large complex/complicated specimens, and completion of a NAACLS-approved pathologist assistant training program.
