The Cleveland Clinic's RN Resident program in Oncology offers a comprehensive career development opportunity for registered nurses. This residency program focuses on providing exceptional nursing care to cancer patients, while also supporting career advancement and leadership opportunities.

This role involves hands-on patient care, participation in educational programs, and the chance to obtain certifications such as Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN). As an RN Resident in Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic, you will join a team that prioritizes patient-centered care and continuous learning. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced healthcare professionals and participate in educational programs tailored to your individual needs.

Our ideal candidate has a graduate degree from an accredited school of professional nursing and is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse. The candidate should have basic life support certification through the American Heart Association and be able to lift and move patients with ease. Additionally, any RN or APN working in medical oncology, radiation oncology, the cancer center, or the cancer clinic should obtain a cancer-specific certification or demonstrate ongoing qualifying education within the facility's accreditation cycle.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes comprehensive health insurance, retirement planning, and paid time off.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients' health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk
  • Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently
  • Document in patients' medical records

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
