Faculty Position in Health Science

Coast Community College District is seeking a part-time health science instructor to join our team. As a health science instructor, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of health science courses to students at our colleges.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction in health science courses, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum, assessing student learning, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you will be expected to participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must have a master's degree in health science or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in health science or a related field and a master's degree in any biological science. You must also have evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively provide instruction to community college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications
A professional experience in delivering integrative health modalities, including naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, or osteopathic medicine, is desirable. Additionally, experience in health coaching, professional certification in motivational interviewing, and experience working as part of a multidisciplinary health team are also desirable.
Conditions of Employment
This is a part-time, temporary position, and employment is contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. The hours of work and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.
