The Housing Program Associate Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Pro Bono Center's (PBC) Housing Program, including the management of Program Specialists. This role is crucial in facilitating the intake processes for the Landlord Tenant Legal Assistance Network (LTLAN) and the Landlord Tenant Resource Center (LTRC), which provide complimentary legal representation, guidance, and information to unrepresented tenants and small landlords facing residential disputes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a supportive work environment.
- Recruit and maintain a diverse team, promoting inclusivity within the department.
- Develop and implement intake procedures and quality assurance measures for LTLAN and LTRC.
- Coordinate workflows and offer guidance to Housing Program Specialists.
- Act as a liaison between LTLAN partners and the PBC, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Facilitate connections between community organizations and the PBC to support tenant needs.
- Design and execute tenant assistance programs, including support for ERAP applications and housing searches.
- Provide both on-site and remote assistance to LTLAN and LTRC, managing customer interactions and maintaining service records.
- Assess client needs and eligibility, clearly communicating the procedures of LTLAN and LTRC.
- Assist clients in accessing non-legal resources to prevent eviction.
- Train and support law school volunteers in their roles.
- Collect and manage data for internal reporting and compliance with grant requirements.
- Draft necessary documentation, including reports and public education materials.
- Update resources for self-represented litigants and ensure their availability to the public.
- Support various PBC initiatives related to housing rights and language access.
- Coordinate and assist with legal clinics and resource centers.
- Maintain accurate records in the PBC's database and contribute to system improvements.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated managerial experience.
- Relevant experience in conducting intake interviews.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Proficiency in Spanish or Amharic is highly desirable.
This position operates in a hybrid model, combining in-office and remote work. The specifics of this arrangement may evolve based on organizational needs.
