Required Qualifications

Educational Background:
Essential: General Education Degree

Additional Requirements:

1. Completion of one year in an accredited respiratory care educational program recognized by the AMA.

2. Licensure / Certifications:
Must be registered as a Respiratory Care Technician with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is mandatory.

3. Experience:
No prior experience is necessary. Candidates should exhibit performance standards (ownership, teamwork, communication, compassion) that enhance patient satisfaction and uphold service excellence principles.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administers various basic respiratory treatments, including therapeutic gases and medications, in accordance with established respiratory care protocols.
  • Collaborates with physicians and healthcare professionals to formulate and adjust patient care strategies.
  • Documents treatment procedures and test outcomes in patient records as required.
  • Ensures proper cleaning and disinfection of respiratory equipment and related accessories.
  • Assists physicians during specialized procedures as needed.
  • Responds promptly to emergency situations, including Code Blue and Code Trauma.
  • Engages in relevant continuing education opportunities to enhance professional development.
