Job Requirements

As a Publication Layout Specialist at Western News & Info Inc, you will be responsible for designing and laying out all Western Publications. This includes routing agency and out-of-town ads through the advertising and graphics departments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and layout all Western Publications, maintaining proper percentages between advertising and editorial content.
  • Use our ad layout software to design publications and run reports for the advertising department.
  • Receive and place agency/out-of-town advertising in the paper.
  • Compute the cost of advertising and take payments from customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, communicating with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Present clear layouts to the graphics department to ensure the best placement for customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of insertions and correspondence with each agency/customer.
  • Proofread advertising content for all publications when possible.
  • Provide proofs of advertisements to customers upon request.
  • Assist with advertising reports as assigned and prepare media packets for potential advertisers or sales reps.
  • Bring any issues to the attention of the advertising manager for prompt resolution.
  • Meet typing and lifting requirements for the role.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Accounting experience is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to work independently.
