Job Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and administering medications to patients in post-acute care settings
  • Supervising residents' self-administration of medications and providing reminders as necessary
  • Verifying patient identity and medication details against the Medication Administration Record (MAR)
  • Documenting interventions, vital signs, and other relevant data
  • Maintaining confidentiality of patient information
  • Reporting any issues or concerns to the supervising nurse
  • Assisting residents with daily living activities (ADLs)

Qualifications:

  • Current Maryland Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active state nursing assistant certification (CNA/LNA/STNA)
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a nursing assistant role or similar
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Familiarity with pharmacological and medical terminology
