We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodian - Substitute to join our team at Glendale Community College. As a Custodian - Substitute, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of assigned buildings and grounds, including classrooms, laboratories, restrooms, lobbies, stairways, and hallways.
• Perform a variety of custodial and facility maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, waxing, and sealing floors, as well as cleaning and sanitizing windows, walls, floors, furnishings, fixtures, equipment, counters, and whiteboards.
• Operate an electric cart to assist in moving tables and other furniture, and other related items as needed.
• Perform minor non-technical repairs and adjustments to equipment and buildings, including using a plunger to unclog restrooms and adjusting desks and other furniture.
• Assist with set-up for events, including assembly and breakdown of event tents, as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service and interact with students, faculty, and staff in a professional and courteous manner.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six (6) months of custodial or general maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and follow safety instructions and labels on cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Ability to use custodial cleaning supplies and maintenance equipment, including a vacuum cleaner, buffer, small power and hand tools.
• Ability to assemble and move large equipment, furniture, and other items.
• Ability to observe and report needed maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to operate an electric vehicle on the campus as assigned.
• Ability to prioritize work and complete assignments accurately and within established deadlines.

This is a temporary substitute position on an as-needed basis. Schedule will vary as needed for coverage. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including early morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
