We are seeking a highly motivated Risk Management Specialist to join our team at the Sacramento Suburban Water District. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work in a dynamic environment with a strong focus on safety and risk management.

Job Summary

The Risk Management Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective safety and risk management programs to protect employees, customers, and the environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety principles, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and investigations to identify potential hazards and develop corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with departments to integrate safety and risk management practices into daily operations.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct regular drills and exercises.
  • Analyze claims data and develop strategies to reduce workers' compensation costs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., industrial engineering, safety engineering, occupational health) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in safety and risk management, preferably in a water utility or similar industry.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Possession of a safety-related certification (e.g., CHSM, SFC, SAC, CSHO) or ability to obtain one within 2 years.
Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
