Key Responsibilities
  • Support and Care: Provide physical, emotional, and psychological support to individuals, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Life Skills Development: Teach and model life management skills, such as personal care, budgeting, and household management.
  • Communication and Feedback: Communicate effectively with individuals, team members, and supervisors, providing feedback on the effectiveness of individual support plans.
  • Community Involvement: Facilitate and maintain family contacts and community involvement, encouraging individuals to participate in their communities and workplaces.
  • Medical Support: Administer medications and treatments as per medical procedures, recognizing and reporting medical crises as they occur.
  • Vocational Support: Assist with vocational evaluations and support vocational programming, including payroll, merit ratings, referrals, and job coaching.
  • Transportation: Transport clients to and from appointments, day programs, and community activities.
  • Confidentiality and HIPAA: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Training and Certification: Complete and maintain required trainings, certifications, and licensures.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency.
  • License: CNA license required.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate verbally, through touch, visually, and in writing.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic budgeting and mathematical skills.
  • Initiative and Judgment: Proven ability to demonstrate tact, good judgment, and initiative in interactions with individuals, peers, family members, and the general public.
  • Supervision: Ability to work with minimal supervision.
