Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Facilities and EVS is responsible for the administration and oversight of the Maintenance Department and the Environmental Services Department. This role ensures that our facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained, providing a positive environment for our employees, customers, and the community.

Essential Functions Statement(s):

  1. Oversees activities in building maintenance & repair, landscape services, stockroom, janitorial, floor care, hazardous materials disposal and storm water compliance to ensure delivery of services and completion of deadlines are met on a timely basis.
  2. Inspects department facilities, vehicles, processes, equipment and inventories for organization, efficiency, cleanliness and maintenance.
  3. Supervises the activities of the Maintenance Manager and EVS Manager including training, coaching, disciplining and providing feedback. Provides guidance in areas such as work management, resource management, employee corrective action, recommendations for hiring and terminations and other complex issues.
  4. Conducts management team management meetings to discuss departmental issues which may include best practices, employee performance, safety, financial plan, profit and loss reports and other issues.
  5. Inspects GISD facilities for general condition along with local, state and federal compliance with building codes, hazardous waste disposal, storm water regulations and ADA requirements. Initiates repairs and corrections as needed.
  6. Participates in construction and renovation projects by acting as a facilities services liaison during construction, providing Maintenance and EVS services as requested, storing & delivering materials and establishing recurring services such as pest control and HVAC maintenance.
  7. Reviews requests from other departments for services, new equipment and renovations. Works with other department heads to ensure maintainability, reliability, system design and energy consumption.
  8. Performs administrative duties including maintaining records and plans, collecting data, setting annual goals and objectives, preparing and implementing budgets, setting staffing levels and department structures, implementing fiscal controls and making policy and procedure recommendations.
  9. Administrates the GISD access control program. Develops and maintains a lock plan for each facility based on the current Best Access system. Responsible for purchasing door hardware, installing locks as needed, issuing keys and submitting completed key receipt forms to Human Resources for record keeping.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications:

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) in related field required.

Experience: Minimum eight years of high-level experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: Must be computer literate. Must be able to use Internet, e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Certificates & Licenses: Must have a vehicle, valid CA Drivers License, and driving record acceptable by Goodwills insurance company. Must have current CPR & First Aid Certificate.

Other Requirements: Must have supervisory experience of multiple departments/areas. Logistics experience. Ability to conduct training for a minimum of 150 people. Must have overall knowledge of product flow, planning, and customer service expectations. Must be available to work weekend and evenings.
