Pharmacy Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and meeting the pharmacy needs of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Enter data into computer systems to fill prescriptions and obtain reimbursement/payment, utilizing knowledge of drugs, medical nomenclature, and the metric system.
- Read and input written prescriptions and medical data, including performing drug calculations and interpreting physicians' orders into the computerized med. order system.
- Perform computer system operations, including order entry, billing, crediting, and updating medical records.
- Input daily orders (new and refills) and audit the input versus documentation, making corrections as required.
- Generate reports as needed and identify and resolve issues of denials or follow-up of claims, by maintaining current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes.
- Participate in orientation, training, competency assessment, and evaluation of Pharmacy Data Entry Technicians.
- May enter IV medication orders into medication order system and perform Pharmacy Technician duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; National PTCB Technician Certification desired.
- One year experience in data entry in a long-term care pharmacy.
- Ability to communicate effectively, work as a member of a team, recognize and identify patient medications.
- Skilled in operating a computer and performing detailed work.
- Knowledge of Medicaid claims regulations and processes.
