About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead our Kubernetes product strategy. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Kubernetes, container ecosystems, and Unix/Linux operating systems.

In this role, you will craft production container orchestration strategies, design and build elastic Kubernetes clusters, and participate in on-call rotations. You will also work closely with the engineering team to guide decisions that impact team and company success.

Responsibilities:

  1. Craft production container orchestration strategies for MemSQL's Kubernetes product.
  2. Design and build elastic Kubernetes clusters across on-prem, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud environments.
  3. Develop and maintain efficient data center operations, including server installation and upgrades.
  4. Collaborate with the engineering team to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes and container ecosystems.
  • Strong working knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible and Puppet.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration.
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting complex production software.
  • C, Python, POSIX shell programming experience required.
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Salary Estimate: $160,000 - $200,000 per year
