Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate effectively to ensure customer satisfaction and a positive environment for both shopping and working.
- Deliver courteous and efficient service by showing genuine care, patience, and respect in all interactions, while expressing gratitude to customers for their patronage.
- Welcome customers warmly throughout the establishment and assist them by guiding them to products, handling heavy items, and retrieving items that are out of reach.
- Anticipate customer needs; communicate effectively and respond to inquiries, resolving issues promptly to enhance customer loyalty.
- Manage front-end operations to achieve or surpass sales, profit, and labor objectives through efficient cost management, labor optimization, excellent service, and shrink control; maintain cleanliness and sanitation at the front end.
- Establish work priorities and task lists to consistently uphold optimal front-end conditions.
- Ensure swift and accurate customer check-out, while ensuring front-end associates comply with company policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Train, supervise, and guide associates on all front-end policies and procedures, including proper handling of products, payments, and coupons, as well as error resolution and price verification to minimize shrink and waste.
- Report pricing and signage inconsistencies to the pricing coordinator.
- Provide backup support for the service operations manager during their absence (excluding hiring and disciplinary actions).
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of checkout transaction policies and procedures, operations, and bookkeeping: process voids, refunds, daily exception reports, and perform cash tender pickups, coin canister exchanges, and till/coupon audits per company standards.
- Operate equipment (e.g., scanner, register, scale, check approval machine) in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with front-end functions (e.g., checkout transactions, stocking, bagging, cart collection, and cleaning).
- Adhere to and enforce all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures as per company, local, state, and federal health codes; identify unsafe conditions and alert management; report any illegal activities.
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Proficient math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
- Friendly, approachable, and team-oriented demeanor
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Good verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
