Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Pavement Recycling Systems is a leading provider of recycling solutions in the Western United States. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Accounts Payable and Accounting department in ensuring timely correspondence with external and internal customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple email inboxes for Accounts Payable processing
  • Obtain vendor statements and reconcile open payables with their open receivable statements
  • Generate reports for internal teams and/or external clients
  • Assist in organizing and submitting document packages
  • Support a high level of service to the accounting department to resolve open items
  • Perform office clerical duties and functions, including filing, copying, scanning, faxing, distributing mail, creating forms/flyers, and other related matters in a timely manner
  • Perform other routine and administrative accounting procedures
  • Communicate with department and vendors to clear problems that arise after statement review
  • Organize and maintain A/P records
  • Assist the Accounts Payable department with A/P accrual at month end
  • Assist with audits, both internal and external, by handling all accounts payable and some accounting-related requests
  • Assign Accounting Help Desk Tickets to accounting Team
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Display a high level of organization and prioritization for tasks at hand
  • Demonstrate flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem-solving
  • Proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
  • Display superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
  • Maintain a tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel
Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of 1-2 years accounts payable-accounting experience
  • High School Diploma at a minimum, Associates degree in Accounting a plus
  • High Volume environment
  • Experience with Microsoft software such as Word, and Excel
Work Environment:
  • Works normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday most of the time
  • Extends working hours into evenings and weekends during seasonal busy times
  • Spends time in a climate-controlled office setting looking at computer screens and keyboarding
  • Attends budget meetings and other financial meetings on a regular basis
Continuing Education Requirements:

Pavement Recycling Systems strongly supports and encourages personal and professional development by providing company-paid continuing education opportunities relevant to the business objectives of each position. Continuing education delivery methods include live seminars, webinars, on-demand webinars, self-study courses, professional and user conferences as well as other approved opportunities.

The continuing education expectation for this position is 40 hours per year.
