Cybersecurity Team Overview:
As a Cybersecurity Defensive Cyber Operations (CDO) Analyst, you will play a crucial role in identifying vulnerabilities, recognizing new threat exposures, and evaluating emerging security technologies. Your expertise will contribute to the formulation of innovative principles and concepts while addressing complex challenges with effective solutions. You will operate with significant autonomy, guiding and mentoring team members in both technical and professional skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor network traffic for security incidents using advanced cybersecurity tools such as firewalls and SIEM systems.
  • Analyze security alerts to detect and counter potential cyber threats effectively.
  • Conduct real-time incident investigations and compile detailed reports on incident responses.
  • Identify and assess malicious activities, implementing strategies to defend against cyberattacks.
  • Perform event correlation to enhance situational awareness from multiple information sources.
  • Engage in threat intelligence analysis, staying informed on the latest developments in the DoD cyber threat landscape.
  • Promote best practices for information security across the organization.
  • Conduct periodic risk assessments utilizing Situational Awareness Reports (SAR).
  • Review and triage Cyber Task Orders to identify vulnerabilities and report findings as necessary.
  • Translate orders into actionable tasks and monitor their progress for reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate with enterprise-wide cyber defense teams to validate alerts and coordinate responses.
  • Provide weekly summaries of network events and activities pertinent to cyber defense.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in roles such as Security Operations Center analyst, incident response analyst, or threat hunter.
  • 1+ years of experience in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with DoD policies and ensuring compliance within specified timeframes.
  • Experience in managing data spills and developing incident action reports.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing small teams.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree is required.

Certifications:
Relevant certifications such as IAM Level II, CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, CCISO, or HCISP are preferred.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in cybersecurity tools and technologies, including firewalls, SIEM systems, HBSS, Splunk, and intrusion detection systems. Familiarity with compliance tools such as Continuous Monitoring and Risk Scoring (CMRS) and FISMA compliance tools is essential.
