About the Role

Tetra Tech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Manager/Environmental Planner to join our team. As a key member of our environmental planning group, you will play a critical role in leading and executing environmental planning projects, ensuring compliance with NEPA regulations, and providing expert advice on environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute environmental planning projects, ensuring compliance with NEPA regulations and providing expert advice on environmental impact.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and scientists, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Prepare and process county, state, and federal permit applications, conducting studies and resource analysis as needed.
  • Consult with county, state, and federal governmental bodies and agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in environmental science, urban/regional planning, environmental policy, environmental studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience with NEPA assessments and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance/permitting in the U.S.
  • Excellent research, analytical, writing, oral communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with team members located across offices.
  • Strong task management skills in successfully scoping and managing project teams and deliverables.
  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently, willingness to work as part of a team, and ability to stay positive and effective during long days in the field.
  • Valid driver's license and participation in required company driver reviews (record checks).
  • Ability to work with and communicate with a diverse group of co-workers and clients to provide high-quality and efficient work products.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in preparing and processing various county, state, and federal land use permits.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience within federal land management agencies' permitting requirements (NEPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Federal Land Policy and Management Act, Forest Service 2012 Planning Rule, etc.).
  • Knowledge and/or experience working with ArcGIS and/or other Geographic Information Systems.
