Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Data Architecture Strategist to join our team at Ent Credit Union in Colorado. As a key member of our Data & Analytics team, you'll play a vital role in designing, implementing, and managing our data architecture to support business strategies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, data governance, and data engineering, with experience working in an agile environment. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, product owners, data engineers, business intelligence analysts, and data scientists, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database and Data Lake Architecture/Design:
    • Initiate and recommend data source modifications to solve business problems.
    • Architect database and data lake schemas to ensure efficient data storage and rapid actionable insights.
    • Consult with Data Engineers on pipeline development and data mappings.
    • Design and optimize high-performing data models for different consumption patterns.
  • Business Partnership/Communication:
    • Develop partnerships with data consumers to understand business needs.
    • Facilitate schema development that aligns with business definitions.
    • Document how schemas map to business data sources.
  • Architectural Patterns and Practices:
    • Document architectural patterns and practices for the Data & Analytics team.
    • Perform periodic checks to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Data Governance:
    • Work closely with the Data Governance committee to define data standards and policies.
    • Ensure design and development adhere to Data Governance standards.
    • Help maintain data integrity from ingestion to presentation.
  • Technical Lead:
    • Provide consulting expertise and technical mentoring across multiple verticals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Business Analytics, Statistics, or Information Systems.
  • 8+ years of experience in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a similar field.
  • 4+ years of data modeling, design, and architecture experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working with an enterprise-wide Data Governance initiative (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in a financial institution (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expert-level data requirement gathering skills.
  • Experience with relational data modeling, data warehouse star schema modeling, data lake design, and data pipeline design patterns.
  • Deep understanding of and experience with enterprise Data Governance initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Databricks, including DeltaLake concepts (preferred).
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, Python, Scala, Spark SQL, etc. (preferred).
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $118,414 to $155,413 per year. This position is eligible for our corporate bonus program based on company performance. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Environmental Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication and collaboration skills. The physical demands of this role include sitting for extended periods and occasional standing and walking.
