Job Title: Chief Estimator

The Lane Construction Corporation is a leading construction company specializing in large, complex civil infrastructure projects. With a rich history spanning nearly 130 years, the company has contributed significantly to the development of America's vast network of roads, highways, and bridges, including the Interstate Highway System.

This position will support a large Heavy Civil project located in the Southeast region, requiring a skilled professional to oversee the project's direction, completion, and financial outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with AFC staff to effectively manage the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Closely monitor and communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to the Vice President.
  • Participate in management committee meetings within assigned joint ventures.
  • Manage the pursuit of project claims and change orders.
  • Ensure the development and use of a CPM schedule throughout the project's life cycle.
  • Engage project and corporate level contract management to address and resolve contractual issues and claims.
  • Participate in project level staff meetings and major decisions.
  • Establish and promote a safety culture through active representation.
  • Oversee procurement or buy-out processes to ensure adherence to set budgets.
  • Sponsor additional revenue strategies, including REAs and claims.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key business partners.
  • Effectively oversee subcontract management.
  • Coach and develop staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of heavy civil construction experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to assess, evaluate, and solve problems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory laws and responsibilities.
  • Organizational skills; attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and leadership skills.
