About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Graduate Engineer to join our team at Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of structural engineering projects, including infrastructure and private development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop structural elements, including bridges, retaining walls, and other miscellaneous structures, under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Manage and develop plans and models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Geopak, MicroStation OpenRoads Designer.
  • Prepare detailed design calculations and construction drawings for bridges, retaining walls, and other miscellaneous structures.
  • Identify and adhere to governing codes for structural design of various elements.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates/quantity takeoffs.
  • Field reviews and construction inspections.
  • Creation and submission of technical reports, presentations, exhibits, and design calculations.
  • Perform engineering calculations/analyses.
  • Coordinate with government entities, utility service providers, and subconsultants.
  • Manage task assignments for budget and schedule adherence.
  • Review and approve project submittals, RFIs, and support field activities during construction.

  • Competent technical skills required to complete engineering tasks on schedule.
  • Able to proactively pursue design solutions.
  • Good reputation amongst peers, clients, and agencies.
  • Follow general directions and guidelines for the firm's policies, practices, and procedures.
  • A supportive team member with the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines.
