Summary:
The Regional Assessment Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing guidance, education, and training to designated facilities regarding the resident assessment instrument (RAI) process. This position coordinates clinical operations within assigned facilities to ensure adherence to Medicare guidelines and managed care case management policies.Qualifications:
  • Registered Nursing degree (or diploma) from an accredited institution – RN Required
Licenses/Certification:
  • Nursing License for the relevant state(s)
  • MDS 3.0 certification
Experience:
  • A minimum of three years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working with the RAI process and PPS.
Essential Functions:
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Understand and adhere to company policies.
  • Review MDS Detail and RUGS monthly or as necessary for assigned facilities.
  • Provide training and support to MDS staff at assigned facilities.
  • Assist clinical teams in preparing for the MDS process.
  • Address MDS issues and concerns during survey processes.
  • Support facilities in identifying Medicare entitlement and eligibility for prospective residents.
  • Offer training on MDS software to assigned facilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and email.
  • Strong computer software skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Capability to educate both professional and non-professional staff.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in long-term care.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret clinical services programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills with residents, family members, and all organizational levels.
  • Familiarity with Medicare regulations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
