Job Title: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Munson Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. As a key member of our neonatal team, you will provide high-quality patient care to our region's smallest patients, working collaboratively with our neonatologists to coordinate patient care needs.

Job Summary

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will function collaboratively with the supervising Neonatologists to coordinate the patient care needs of the high-risk newborn population. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level III NICU and be certified by the NCC as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive physical assessments of patients
  • Establish medical diagnosis for common short-term or chronic health problems
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and perform diagnostic and invasive and noninvasive procedures
  • Prescribe medications in collaboration with the neonatologist
  • Provide respiratory therapy utilizing nasal cannula, nasal CPAP, ventilation, and other treatments
  • Establish and adjust fluid requirements, parenteral and enteral nutrition, and other care
  • Make patient referrals to appropriate physicians or other healthcare providers
  • Provide emergency care and perform CPR and initiate and manage resuscitative measures
Requirements
  • Current MI Specialty APRN License
  • Current BLS Certification, Current NRP certification
  • NRP instructor status is encouraged
  • 2 years level III RN/NNP experience preferred, experience in a Level IV NICU is strongly preferred
  • 500 Clinical Hours within the last three years
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a team member
  • Maintain NNP best practices in all practice environments
  • Flexibility
  • Neonatal transport experience preferred
