Project Accountant II Job Description

Cadence McShane Construction Company is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant II to join our North Dallas office. This role will be responsible for managing all project accounting duties and monitoring the financial aspects of assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage all aspects of project accounting, including job billing, accounts receivable, and job cost.
  • Review and process invoices, including subcontract management and payment application review/approval/processing.
  • Assist the project manager with initial budget setup and change orders.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, and ensure compliance with contract documents.
Requirements:
  • Minimum five years' experience in project/cost accounting in construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Textura or other subcontract management tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
