**Job Summary**
At Mercy, we are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Surgical Medical/Surgical Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to patients recovering from surgery.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide direct patient care to patients recovering from surgery, including administering medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and provide education to patients and families on post-operative care and recovery.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
**Requirements**
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, and stand/walk for extended periods.
