Position Overview: This role involves supporting the nursing staff in delivering essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with routine patient care tasks within a nursing unit.
  • Engage in clerical and organizational duties that focus on patient needs.
  • Ensure that all personal belongings of patients are accounted for during transfers or discharges.
  • Maintain cleanliness and availability of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Perform errands and replenish patient rooms with necessary items such as water, linens, and towels.
  • Execute unit-specific patient care tasks as outlined in the skills checklist.
  • Assist in managing inventory and ordering stock items as necessary.
  • Organize and maintain unit supplies to ensure efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with team members across shifts.
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and inquiries.
  • Adapt care methods to meet the diverse needs of patients, considering their physical, psychosocial, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform patient care responsibilities that cater to the specific needs of the patient population served.

Qualifications: Previous experience in a patient care role within an acute care environment is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications: Relevant certifications may be required.

This position is full-time and plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care and operational efficiency within the healthcare setting.
