Position Overview: This role involves supporting the nursing staff in delivering essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with routine patient care tasks within a nursing unit.
- Engage in clerical and organizational duties that focus on patient needs.
- Ensure that all personal belongings of patients are accounted for during transfers or discharges.
- Maintain cleanliness and availability of medical equipment and supplies.
- Perform errands and replenish patient rooms with necessary items such as water, linens, and towels.
- Execute unit-specific patient care tasks as outlined in the skills checklist.
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering stock items as necessary.
- Organize and maintain unit supplies to ensure efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with team members across shifts.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and inquiries.
- Adapt care methods to meet the diverse needs of patients, considering their physical, psychosocial, and cultural backgrounds.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform patient care responsibilities that cater to the specific needs of the patient population served.
Qualifications: Previous experience in a patient care role within an acute care environment is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Relevant certifications may be required.
This position is full-time and plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care and operational efficiency within the healthcare setting.
