Position Overview:
As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will engage in various facets of patient care within the designated healthcare unit, working under the direct oversight of a Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in an assigned area, ensuring adherence to the directives of the supervising Registered Nurse.
  • Collaborate with the Primary Nurse and Nursing Care Coordinator to strategize and coordinate patient care effectively.
  • Implement the nursing process as guided by the Primary Nurse, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document and report nursing care results promptly, communicating significant information to the Primary Nurse and/or Nursing Care Coordinator.
  • Execute treatments and procedures as delegated by a Registered Nurse, maintaining high standards of care.
  • Foster positive interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of medication dosages, side effects, and patient reactions, enabling safe administration of oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications, excluding experimental drugs.
  • Administer narcotics orally or intramuscularly, with specific exceptions for pediatric and neonatal care.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with graduation from an accredited practical nursing program. A valid license to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State and/or Connecticut is required. Effective communication skills are essential.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $30-$55/hour. This range represents a good faith estimate of potential base compensation for successful applicants and may be adjusted in the future based on various factors such as location, specialty, service line, relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget considerations, and internal equity.
