Licensed Practical Nurse

At New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, we are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in a float position. As a float LPN, you will have the opportunity to work in various locations across our network, providing high-quality patient care and supporting our mission to redefine what's possible against cancer and blood disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow all New York Cancer and Blood Specialists policies and procedures
- Update and maintain electronic patient records and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital format
- Manage Physician inbox and prioritize tasks assigned via ONCO EMR
- Work in the front office, taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients
- Assist in maintaining medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
- Record patient information, including vital signs, weight, and changes in medical history before each appointment
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, and document all information in patient's chart
- Record patient interview, history, and chief complaint
- Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
- Assist physician with exams
- Prepare and administer injections
- Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
- Perform basic lab tests
- Perform EKGs
- Administer and document medication under a physician's order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error
- Current NYS LPN license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Previous experience in a lead role or demonstrated potential to act in a lead capacity
- Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals
- Outpatient experience preferred
- Proficiency in ONCOemr
- Travel to any of the NYCBS locations
- Salary up to $40 per hour
- 100% Tuition Reimbursement for any accredited nursing degree
