Position Overview:
The primary role of the Vehicle Body Repair Specialist is to deliver an outstanding customer experience through careful evaluation and high-quality restoration of each vehicle, returning it to its pre-accident state.
This specialist meticulously disassembles, repairs, and reassembles vehicles, playing a crucial role in our commitment to speed, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Collaboration with all team members is essential to meet the repair facility's key performance indicators (KPIs), and you will consistently represent The Boyd Group as a dedicated Brand Ambassador.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan consistently.
- Assess necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for clients.
- Utilize various tools, including cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers, to address vehicle damage.
- Repair minor body damage by hammering out dents and applying filler resins when needed.
- Realign vehicle chassis and frames to rectify structural issues.
- Remove damaged vehicle sections and replace them with new or aftermarket components.
- Repair or replace glass and windshields as required.
- Handle interior part replacements or repairs as necessary.
- Weld and fit parts securely, preparing and repainting vehicles with factory-matched paint or an agreed-upon equivalent.
- Strive to complete work orders within designated labor time guidelines.
- Inspect vehicles post-repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of a technical school program or a three-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer is preferred.
- Ability to interpret job orders and work independently.
- Collaborative skills to work effectively with other repair technicians.
- Comprehensive understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
- Proficient in using the tools necessary for the trade.
- Capability to work safely in a noisy environment with various odors.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
- Proficient visual inspection of vehicle damage under diverse weather conditions.
- Physical ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat for repairs and inspections.
